This from a New York Times opinion piece by Sarah Hepola today: Kavenaugh and the Blackout Theory
This is not about the attempted rape of Dr. Ford but about another target. In the essay she details a section in Mark Judges memoir:
Mr. Judge describes this terror in his memoir “Wasted,” where he tells the story of a wedding rehearsal dinner where he got so blasted he doesn’t remember the evening’s end. A friend informs him the next day that he tried to take off his clothes and “make it” with a bridesmaid. Mr. Judge’s response cuts me. “Please tell me I didn’t hurt her,” he said.
I was prepared not to be persuaded by this theory, but she does an excellent job of describing that some people under the influence will truly not remember what they did.
Brett claims he never blacked out, only went to sleep. This may be a lie.
There are so many questions still to be asked about his drinking but I doubt Brett Kavenaugh will ever be asked and if asked he will then be allowed to evade, divert, and lie.
