Anyone want to bet that McCain shows up late tonight?
This is would be classic McCain.
It would be very splashy, and though we would feel he looked like a dramatic asshat, McCain would think it would be Mavericky.
The danger of this insane rude ploy would be that he would be on offense again.
McCain knows a shorter event would be better for him. There would be less of a chance he would actually have to say something substantive.
Just to be clear, I have no evidence the McCain campaign has even thought of this.
It just seems to me like a scenario we should have a plan for.

If McCain shows up late, he will say that whatever progress is made on the bailout Friday will be because he stayed late.
McCain's campaign will say Obama was more concerned about being on TV while McCain was "saving the economy."
This stunt would also throw the press and they would be fawning all over the drama. (I hope that isn't true, but at least tonight McCain could be driving the narrative.)
If McCain tries this ploy, he could ask that "with the brief time remaining" (at the debate) we get questions from the audience.
His Town Hall format.
Obama could look pushed around and McCain could avoid having to answer any real questions about the economy.
I'm writing this because presently, the MSM is saying McCain will either show up or he wont.
I'm throwing out an alternative, that though normally would be seen as unpresidential and rude behavior, would play into McCain's image of himself.
I'm hoping the Obama campaign has a contigency plan for this.
Any thoughts on what we should do if this happens?
