I'm so mad I could just spit!
Follow me below the fold.
First Walker killed the train, now he wants to kill health care in Wisconsin.
Talk about letting the fox guard the henhouse.
Not many people in Wisconsin seem to know much about Dennis G. Smith, Gov. Scott Walker's pick for Secretary of the Department of Health Services. That's perhaps not surprising, since Smith lived and worked out of state at the time of his appointment. [...] But clues to his views and agenda can be mined from a string of commentaries he wrote for the conservative Washington D.C. think tank The Heritage Foundation, which Smith joined as a senior fellow in May 2008. You can also get a sense of his views from his many television appearances on Fox Business and other TV programs.
What emerges from a quick survey of some of these dozens of articles and interviews is an articulate and fervent critic of the very programs he is now in charge of. Among the most provocative of his articles is a December 2009 essay for Heritage encouraging states to walk away from Medicaid completely rather than comply with the new health care law, which he calls a "federal takeover."
But wait! There's more!
And in an interview with Fox Business, he claims that "the real purpose of the government's health plan is to overwhelm the private sector and push it out."
Hmmm... He says that like it's a BAD thing.
