I watched Washington Week on Friday where Matthew Dowd made a comment about how he checks the Drudge Report frequently. He seemed to be saying that this was a normal thing for the Very Serious Pundits invited to Gwen Ifill's table and living in Washington DC to do.
I checked out the drudgereport.com out of curiosity and found a link to this article:
http://www.washingtontimes.com/...
Whose title is "Obama - 'If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen'"
I thought it strange that Obama would make such a statement so I watched the video and you will probably not be surprised to learn that while those words were literally spoken by Obama, it is clear from the context that it is a gross mischaracterization to claim that that is what Obama was saying.
He was saying that we are all only successful because we've been helped by teachers and infrastructure and other aspects of society. No one is an island, no matter how smart and hard working they are.
If drudgereport.com is posting links with such titles which are clearly disingenuous, why would this website be so popular among the media elites?
The other thing I noticed was this article from the New York Times about recent inquiries into Romney at Bain between 1999 and 2002:
http://www.nytimes.com/...
Their conclusion is not that Romney's claims strain credulity. No. Rather, it's complicated.
How can these so-called 'objective' and even 'liberal' media sources be such right-wing rags without acknowledging it?
This is what we're up against my fellow Kossacks.
Courage.
FYI, Washington Week is funded by Boeing, Prudential Financial, and Suffolk Southern.
