Et tu, Ding-Dongs?
It seems Twinkies have reached their expiration date, along with alot of union jobs as Laura Clawson served up in this excellent diary today.
Expiration?!? A chemical impossibility for the golden caked classic you may say but if you love them, you best start hoarding them now because their shelf-lives are nigh!
According to The Atlantic and the Chicago Tribune, the run is on!
A ten-count box of Twinkies has been listed on eBay for an opening bid of $200,000, with a buy-it-now for $250,000. Dozens more listings appear at more reasonable prices -- for now.
Enjoy the endangered snack cakes while they last!
John McCain tweeted about them today in classic Repug self absorbed flair:
Twinkies maker Hostess closes - what will we do without deep fried Twinkies at the #Iowa State Fair?

As a restless nation wept.
Oh, yeah. Some people are still pretty sore over that one too.
Btw...BWAAHAAHAHHAHH!!! (Ahem. God that STILL feels good!)
And now the starting price of a single Twinkie is $5,000;)
Does this mean we'll see alot more people claiming the Twinkie Defense!
Truly, it's the end of days and diets!
Enjoy 'em while you got 'em and prepare for Twinkie rustlers.
