BF-5: in which a Kossacks drums up support
for her Walmart event!

Dear Comal Co Democrats,

Well, the election is over, and after all of our hard work & blockwalking efforts, things did not turn out as well as we would have liked. At least not at the local level. Nevertheless, the email conversation has been upbeat and no one is giving up. Even our candidates are taking their losses in stride, and vowing to run again. That spirit is exactly what I love about working with this group.

Hopefully, most of you have heard about the Black Friday Strike being planned by Walmart Workers. If not here is a some info on the strike: I would love for us to support these courageous workers on Black Friday.

In our GOTV outreach, we went to the homes of working people and asked them to vote for our candidates. We held events and asked them to come and listen to our speakers. Now it is time for us, as Democrats, to listen to these workers, and give them the support that they are asking for.

Democrats often complain about working people voting against their own economic self-interest when they vote for Republicans. Now we have an opportunity to show them in a concrete way that we are on their side. We should show up to the Black Friday Events as Democrats and let them really see which Party is on their side. It's good politics, and, more important than that, it's the right thing to do.

Someone has already set up an event at the New Braunfels Walmart for 8 PM ( I have also adopted two Walmarts and set the events for 10 AM and 2 PM. You can email me to RSVP and I will send more info.

Fellow Democrats! Let's put on our comfortable shoes & stand with Walmart Workers!

Yours for a damn fine fight!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
