Let us accept Rev. Al's point and the president's point about fairness. But equally, it is not fair that public employee unions pensions and benefits are so rich now that cities and states are going bankrupt and college tuition is going up 25 and 30 percent.
Average public employee pension, you ask? Seven out of ten get less than $30,000 a year. Truth is that a small minority of that money actually comes from taxpayers. The pensioners pay for their own pensions and most of the money the funds make they make on investments. But to Carly Fiorina, if you're a police officer or firefighter with 25 years walking the beat or risking your life, and finally you want to kick back on $30k a year, you're a rich moocher who is bankrupting government. Worse, somehow you're making college a real drag. It isn't fair, she says.

Yes, it is the same Carly Fiorina of ruining a great American company, firing thousands of people in the process, still not turning a profit, being fired for failure, walking away with a $20 million severance package fame. Yes, that's the one. The same one who admits that while she herself didn't bother to vote that much, she damn sure didn't have a problem spending $6 million of her own hand-to-mouth pension to get Californians to vote for her. She lost by 10 points.

One would think Republicans would be embarassed to be represented by someone who has been a lifetime failure like Fiorina. Especially having put forward a similar sort of fail upwards entitled elitist like Romney and seeing him trounced at the polls. Or perhaps after Fiorina illustrated her political acumen as a John McCain surrogate in 2008 by saying neither he nor his running mate could run a major corporation ... right in the middle of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. Last year Fiorina failed upward again by snagging the top post at the National Republican Senate Committee. Her job was to get Republicans elected to the Senate. They lost two seats. And it is all perfectly, perfectly fair. Correction: It is equally unfair.

At this point, let's just stop wasting time. Republicans should go ahead and declare Carly Fiorina the 2016 presidential nominee by unanimous acclimation. I can't think of anyone in that party who is more deserving.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
