Wed. Dec. 19- Forge the Supply Chain, 12 noon to 7 pm
Please bring smaller pieces of foreign made clothing to Marion Square to be attached to our Supply Chain, which symbolizes the connections forged by Walmart which connect sweatshop labor in the developing worls to our own devastated textile economy in SC.  Like the Ghost of Jacob Marley’s chain in Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, it’s a ponderous chain and our will be hung with 112 items of clothing, one for each person killed in the fire.

Those arriving by car and public transit can shuttle from the Starbucks in Belle Hall Shopping Center on Long Point Road.  Call 870-5299 if you can’t find our contact at Starbucks to arrange a pickup.  Bring your connected devices to sent out internet content.  We’ll have Wi-Fi on site.  No acts of violence are planned or expected.  You will not have to risk arrest to participate in this peaceful demonstration of education and outreach.  Facebook event page for #blocktheboat picket of resistance

The first and largest group will move out from the Starbucks at 6 am with the goal of having our picket line in place well before the Port Gate is supposed to open at 7 am.  If you get out there later, or come by transit, we'll be shuttling people out as we can.  You can also walk from Starbucks to the Port Gate in about 20 minutes.  It is sidewalked the entire way.  If you do. show your sign to the morning traffic, make that walking pay.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
