MIGHT DONT MAKE IT RIGHT
Might dont make it right!
..................................................................
Robert was inspired and although tired
from a long day, agreed to drum and
while Chris DID strum, it wasnt like it used to be.
It wasnt like we used to do.
We all did shout out and, cry about
things, much ado. What of you and me
and we could still play, and you can sing along
its not the same old, same old song.
........................................................................
okay, so we did this thing tonight; and 'it' inspired me to write that thing up there... But the things is, the song we did tonight, I started a few weeks ago with the chorus, 'might dont make it right'. I had an 'idea' of what I wanted to do with it, so I took it to the band. There wasnt alot of inspiration at the time, but I had put down a click track WITH a good count and much of the chorus vocals. Chris and I did a combination bass thing with me playing a piano bass and he playing his red Fender bass. It sat for a couple of weeks and we all talked about it and other 'stuff'. Tonight tho... a different story. I think we had let it sit long enough and after we listened to it, Robert was truly inspired and wrote some great lines. His drums were as always, where they need to be.... and then some. They were anthemic, if thats a word. Chris was making these funny sounds with his 'pignose', but the batteries went dead and we were forced to use this.... uhh.. 'thing'. I dont even think it has a name but its got 2 ten inch nasty wasted speakers and a bunch of knobs, its black with Orange numbers...'400'. We probably wont use it again to be honest, because it sounds horrible, and we had it up LOUD.
We have a little bit of mixing and some added vocals, but its a pretty significant point for us. We have been doing alot of collaborations lately and we have 4 or 5 songs ' in the can' right now and a couple others that are so much different than anything weve even attempted before. And tonight was a huge topping on it. And I dont want to forget that Robert had a cool idea for a cello thing too.....
but thats another story....
