This is the face of panic. They took hostages and took hostages. They obstructed the recovery. And now the sequester will cause job losses, and Boehner desperately is trying to blame the President for Boehner's own actions.
PUBLISHED 10:58 AM ET, UPDATED 11:49 AM ET -- House Speaker John Boehner Tuesday repeatedly challenged the president's willingness to go against his own party on issues that include reforms to social programs and spending.
"I think he'd like to deal with it [fiscal problems], but to do the kind of heavy lifting that needs to be done, I don't think he's got the guts to do it,” the Ohio Republican said in a meeting with a small group of reporters for nearly an hour Tuesday morning. “He understands there is a spending problem. He understands that we need changes and reforms, and we need to solve these problems."
When pressed about the severity of that statement, he modified, saying the president does not have the "courage."
msnbc: Boehner accuses Obama of not having the 'guts' to cut spending
Boehner is now namecalling. I can tell you who will win this fight. The American people re-elected Barack Obama.
It does not take "guts" to decimate the middle class and the poor. That's not courage, Mr. Boehner. That's evil.
Childish bullshit from Boehner. Proceed, Mr. Boehner.
It takes courage to reject Boehner's war on the middle class. It does not take guts to be like Paul Ryan and make war on the powerless.
I hope the upcoming job losses teach folks about cutting government spending in a recession. The President needs to make clear to the American people why the job losses are coming and to place blame right where it belongs: on the economically illiterate policies of the Republican House.
I think the SOTU may be fun tonight!!
The more Rs whine and insult, the more we know they are losing. :-)
