Tuesday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care.

If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
Our hearts are heavy tonight as we process the news about the devastating tornado in Oklahoma. We also think about our friend Noddy and her woozles Itzl & Xoco who live there. I've had some communication with Noddy today, and I'm pleased to report that they are all fine. Noddy and Itzl were at their workplace throughout the tornado and while they got a lot of high winds, rain and hail they were not in danger. Their home is about 15 miles from the devastated area, so no damage or danger there. Typically, Noddy is spending her evening helping with the relief efforts. She is helping to match up the displaced people who lost their homes with the area residents who are generously opening up their homes to those who need a place to stay. She said she also gave all of her animal carriers to the volunteers who are helping with pet rescue. I imagine she's having a long day and night with a task like that.
When I need music to give me courage and strength, I turn to Beethoven, so for my musical offering tonight I give you the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 7th Symphony:
