They say you have to stop and smell the roses, don't let life pass you by, live in the now, blah, blah, blah... the simple truth is that the war against the GOP is - to use Rummy's words again' him, "a long war" and if we don't enjoy the little victories, it's all to easy to be discouraged.
So, let's all luxuriate into a nice warm bath of our foes hilarious failure.
Come with me, back in time to the closing days of 2013....
On Dec. 2, 2013, Chris Christie, was still laughing about Bridgeshutgate, "sarcastically dismissing questions about the closures being political retaliation, saying: "I worked the cones. Unbeknownst to anyone, I was working the cones."
Christie was beating Hillary in the polls, and the left was still reeling from the Obamacare rollout.
That was December, i.e. last month.
Jump ahead a few weeks and let's see just how much changed.
The reaction to the Obama SOTU was a hilarious disaster, but more importantly the GOP has admitted that healthcare will never go back to how it was in the bad more-old days. Oh yeah, and that there won't be another debt ceiling fight.
GOP infighting has increased dramatically. In a single day both Ted "LOLZ" Cruz and Ann "I vote where I please" Coulter have attacked Boehner, who himself is desperate to slime his party back into power.
Polls have also shown that the most popular GOP candidate for Pres - now that Christie is gone - is either Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee or... Mitt Romney?!
The fear on the right is suddenly so palpable that Ted Cruz is claiming that Boehner is destroying the (very presumptuously assumed) GOP Senate retakingoveredness.
On top of that, we get Romney in love with Putin, the GOP's alternative healthcare plan being bad for the elderly (a huge chunk of their base) and women (who they need to win anything...ever again...).
And hey, what about Obamacare? Well, it's still not great, but... the public perception is changing, slowly, but surely.
And what of our hero Chris Christie?

What a difference a few weeks makes.
