Alaska Dispatch reports that on Tuesday October 21st Palin hosted an event where she endorsed the ticket challenging the incumbent Republican Governor and his running mate.
The ticket she endorsed is a Democratic Party endorsed "unity" ticket between a former Republican challenger now independent, Bill Walker, and the former Democratic Governor candidate, Bryon Mallott, who joined as Lt. Governor nominee.
The current Republican governor, Sean Parnell (a.k.a. Capt. Zero) is the one Sarah Palin left AK with when she went on her whirlwind Republican National Ticket romance and subsequent nervous breakdown. He's in the pocket of big oil and is a bible thumper and is anti-legal-abortion.
538 gave some background on the ticket in Sept.
Wikipedia has a nice rundown on the race with a shout out to Daily Kos Elections.
I only hope her endorsement isn't a poison pill that works against the unity ticket.
( I am starting to have a glimmer of hope that Democrats could have an Alaska Trifecta Miracle with
1) Begich re-elected over never-been-elected Rove ex-marine pinup boy Dan Sullivan*
2) Forrest Dunbar gives Don Young his much needed retirement
3) Walker/Mallott wrests the control of Alaska State Govt back from the Oil Companies.
It could happen. Couldn't it? )
*not the same Dan Sullivan who is Sean Parnell's running mate and current mayor of Anchorage who is an imperious ass and seems to be following Scott Walker's union busting playbook.
