Just take a look at the shellacking he endured during his last failed attempt at becoming the theocratic leader of the free world.
It appears Romney finally put to rest a debate that was keeping conservatives awake at night.
Will he or won't he, Romney, run for President? Was it ever really even a viable option folks?
Just take a look at the shellacking he endured during his last failed attempt at becoming the theocratic leader of the free world. After all, Romney is a devout Mormon and part of the church's clergy. Romney was once a "Bishop" and a "stake president" who presided over various congregations. That's Romney's first problem, the hardcore Christian base is not going to allow a Mormon president, just yet.
However, ignoring Mitt's religious affiliations and looking at it solely from a political standpoint, Romney is toast with numerous voting sectors. Much of this based on the fact that Romney was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has lived his entire life boasting about his successes and everyone Else's failures. In other words, "El Obispo" doesn't realize he's misspeaking, it comes natural to him. What else would you expect from a well educated, bright guy, who made his living off taking over struggling companies, ensuring their demise, and filling his deep pockets with the profits, leaving unemployed workers and their families in total ruin? His comfort is evident when he emits faux pas like his "47%" comment, or while expressing his desire to utilize attrition by enforcement in order to force self deportation of millions of undocumented workers who are already woven into the fabric of America. They probably do Mitt's lawn or his pool for God's sake!
It was clear Romney was not the guy back then, and he certainly isn't the guy now. While the GOP continues their search for the next "Great White Hope," the Democrats have been busy placing the first black man in the White House, and busy ensuring that the next occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is also the first woman to lead the free world. Yes, I'm referring to Hillary Clinton, of course.
