As one of the thousands of terrorists - er, I mean teachers - who were embracing their constitutional rights of freedom of speech, assembly and singing in Madison, I think Walker's comments to CPAC were beyond ridiculous. Of course, he will now accuse the media of "gotcha" questions when they ask him about his comments. But when are they going to ask him about his GOTCHA LEGISLATION?
Gotcha legislation, Exhibit A: Act 10. Nope, Scotty mentioned nothing about this during his first campaigns for governor. He mentioned how he was going to negotiate with teachers, but nothing about a draconian law that would strip them of all rights. Then, right after his inauguration, bam, gotcha legislation! Late-night, illegal Republican legislator meetings, late-night signing without comment, then back home to Wauwatosa for the weekend. Yes, while his kids were still in high school, he was driven in a huge SUV with smoked glass windows back to Wauwatosa every weekend. In other words, he faced down exactly zero protestors in Madison. There were incidents of people screaming at his house and giving it a one finger salute.
Gotcha legislation, Exhibit B: After saying during his 2014 campaign that he wasn't going to pursue right to work legislation, right after his inauguration, bam, gotcha legislation! Same scenario - late meetings, Walker not talking about it much, Walker everywhere BUT Madison so he doesn't have to deal with the consequences.
Both of these major pieces of legislation were done early in his term, so that by the time he ran for reelection, they were old news. I believe this is very intentional.
So, Mr. "I stood up to teachers and their kids, so I could deal with ISIS" doesn't even have the guts to tell Wisconsin what he's really going to do once he's elected. And he likes to sign controversial legislation on Friday nights before he takes off for Wauwatosa (or CPAC) so that he doesn't have to deal directly with the media.
Walker is a gutless coward who lies, distorts, evades and disappears when conflict might be in the air. And he is the country's biggest proponent of Gotch Legislation.
