Tonight's guest on The Daily Show is George Stephanopoulos and on The Nightly Show Kerry Coddett, Phillip Agnew and Seaton Smith will be discussing the protests in Baltimore.
George Stephanopoulos television journalist and a former U.S. Democratic Party political advisor. He is chief anchor and chief political correspondent for ABC News, co-anchor of ABC News' Good Morning America, and host of ABC's Sunday morning This Week.
I know Jon loves when the media has double standards, I wonder if he will confront him about the Schweizer interview?
George Stephanopoulos and ABC News’s double standard on former employers
On Sunday, Peter Schweizer, author of the forthcoming book “Clinton Cash,” appeared on several Sunday news programs. One of Schweizer’s appearances was on ABC News’s “This Week,” hosted by George Stephanopoulos. During the interview, Stephanopoulos suggested that Schweizer’s former employers could be relevant to the credibility of his claims about alleged improprieties by Bill and Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.
Stephanopoulos’s question was standard media fare. Journalists often focus on the potential bias of the messenger instead of the content of the message. Ideally, Schweizer’s claims would stand (or fall) on the strength (or weakness) of his reporting.
If we are going to consider the potential conflict-of-interest or ideological motivation of a reporter, should not this apply just as much to Stephanopoulos as it does to Schweizer? If the political affiliation or alignment of Schweizer’s former employers or funders is relevant, cannot the same be said of Stephanopoulos? Should not viewers of ABC News’s “This Week” have been reminded that Stephanopoulos spent years working for the Clintons and helping to manage various scandals that arose during Bill Clinton’s campaign and first term in office? (Indeed, at one point, there were allegations Stephanopoulos personally benefited from Clinton-influenced cronyism.)
Hopefully they will also discuss Bernie Sanders run tonight, too.
Sanders is expected to make his intentions known this week, then hold a rally in Vermont next month. He plans to run as a Democrat, according to a knowledgeable Democrat.

Phillip Agnew
His organization, the Dream Defenders, is credited with putting the Trayvon Martin case on the national radar.
Phillip Agnew first came to community activism as a student at Florida A&M University after 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson was beaten to death at a Florida boot camp (the camp was shuttered soon after). Seven years later, in response to teen Trayvon Martin being killed, Agnew formed the Dream Defenders, which brought vigor and national attention to the Martin case from the start. The black-and-brown-youth-led Dream Defenders now has chapters on nine college campuses in Florida and highlights racial and social economic-justice issues like prison privatization, racial profiling and "zero tolerance" policies in schools -- which many believe lead students of color straight into the prison system.
