It was announced today that the Attorney General of the United States was bringing indictments against several high ranking officials at FIFA, the governing body of the World Cup for corruption and bribery, well la de da!! With aalll the corruption in our political process not to mention The Koch Brothers attempt to overthrow our elected Government and WALLSTREET trying to destroy main street you would think they could find something closer to home, you know, consumer protection, investigating ALEC for corruption and bribery of state and Federal Representatives, environmental polluters and on and on. Am I alone in thinking that with all the other issues facing our country that wasting time and resources on this one organization is pointless? Lets talk below the fold.
I know that corruption of any kind is dangerous and corrosive and eventually impacts the society as a whole but some are worse than others, political corruption, financial misconduct of public institutions causing a loss of trust and faith in those institutions. There has to be a better use of public funds and resources than investigating FIFA, as an American I couldn't care less about FIFA and soccer but thats just me, what do you think?
