A new Iowa poll, released today of likely Democratic caucus goers, shows John Edwards moving into the lead with just six days left. The Lee Enterprises newspapers poll shows John and Barack Obama at 29 percent each and Hillary Clinton at 28 percent, with 19 percent of Democrats still making up their minds.
The poll, conducted with 500 likely caucus goers from each party this past Wednesday and Thursday, shows Edwards and Obama tied with 29 percent , followed by Clinton with 28 percent.
The story can be found here.
What this new poll clearly shows is that John Edwards has the "Big Mo" going into the last week of the Iowa campaign. Previously, all the other polls showed him within a statistical tie, but always with the lowest numbers.
Combine this with the fact that Edwards is the "second choice" of most expected caucus goers polled and you can quickly see how Edwards has a great chance to pull a big upset in Iowa.
This ought to be heartening to any Edwards supporters (myself included).

In response to criticism of my original diary title, I have changed it to reflect the gist of my post. Please understand that the first time I saw the poll was this morning. So I am not as up to date as other political junkies. So sue me.
