Today is Keith Olbermann's 52nd birthday, so please use the comments to wish him well - and perhaps toss out a few ideas for his birthday wish? Hopefully Keith will stop by and see them. So he doesn't miss it, everybody tweet him @KeithOlbermann a link to this page!
If I had a wish today, I wish I could fire Griffin, return Keith to his 8pm time slot, and then give Joe Scarborough's job to Thom Hartmann.
Sarah Palin gave Keith a lovely gift last night. She tried to criticize Obama, but as usual, she got all tangled up in those pesky little facts about history, and made a giant fool of herself...
So, for Keith's birthday -- Sarah is giving him at least a few (more) days worth of late night jokes at her expense. Palin seems to have no idea what Sputnik was.
Palin: Sputnik Led to Collapse of Soviet Union
CBS News
"Governor," said Van Susteren. "Last night, there was a lot of discussion about the 'Sputnik moment' that the president talked about. Do you agree with him? Do you feel, is this our moment?"
Palin responded, "That was another one of those WTF moments when [Mr. Obama] so often repeated the 'Sputnik Moment' that he would aspire Americans to celebrate. He needs to remember that what happened back then with the former communist USSR and their victory in that race to space, yeah, they won, but they also incurred so much debt at the time that it led to the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union."
First of all...Sarah, did you really just say "WTF" out loud, you hip mama, you?
Secondly....Sputnik caused the Soviet Union to collapse? Really? Sputnik in 1957 caused the Soviet Union to collapse 34 years later? Really? Gee Sarah, is it possible you're confusing the space race with the arms race?
This quote clearly doesn't apply to Sarah Palin....
in your case, Sarah, they are all correct:
Happy Birthday Keith!
We miss you more than I can express - not even Sarah Palin can make up a word that could articulate how much we miss you!
