Rmoney won. I knew I was not going to need to move. I will be forwarding this to several of them who said they would move if Obama won. Hehehe.
I grew up in Arizona and never saw snow until I was 21 when I got a job in New England to see all the fun things my grandparents had told me about. The first year I got snow bound in my apartment the first Thanksgiving. Me and snow just went down hill from there.
I even took ski lessons in Vermont but that year the snow was so light some rocks were poking thru the snow. First time down the hill I hit one and flipped over landing back on my ski's and continuing all the way to the ski lodge. I was unable to do much control but the instructor said he had never seen a new skier do a flip like that and not break something. A couple of girls thought I was one cool dude for doing that and I never told them I didn't do it on purpose. But... due to the light snow we never graduated to longer skies and how to use polls.
I went skiing at a Connecticut ski resort the next month and when I hit an ice patch and was heading toward an ice plow at ninety miles an hour I remembered what ski poles were handy for. TURNING!! I lucked out and the ice turned to soft snow just in time for me to whiz past the snow plow. I also could not keep my feet warm and that was the end of my expensive ski experience. So much for me and cold weather.
I have visited Canada several times and have been impressed by the friendliness of it's wonderful people. They don't lock their doors when they leave!!! AND everything is still there when they get home (except near the border with the US). They can control drunk Niagara Falls US college kids beer riots with one police woman and a German Shepherd puppy. The policeperson does not have a gun. AAnd she is real helpful if you need anything.
BUT---- it gets real C-C-C-Cold up there! Also beyond a 6 month tourist visa you pretty much have to, as stated here in several KOS diaries, prove you are a real asset and have a job lined up.
Oh yeah they do have that great government provided health care plan repubs do not like. I expect if you hated it you could come back down to the US and pay a doctor just because.…
Just about all the advanced countries in the world have government supported and or universal health care.We are so out numbered by the other countries you have wonder what the rest of the world knows and we don’t. So you'll have to hope enough like minded repubs go to the country you decide to move to and can get their health plans nullified. The wonderful Brits are so proud of their health care system they made part of their Olympic opening have a tribute to it. A dig at the backwards United States perhaps.
Speaking of that when Rmoney went to England the first thing he did was to insult their Olympics planning and security. I mean seems to me it worked fine. Would have been a great chance for Rmoney to check out their medical care first hand but all I remember was that gaff and him having a money raising get together with some guy named Diamond who was caught up in banking fraud. More Rmoney vaporware.
Now that we have a great real guy with Kenyan and Hawaiian Roots, Chicago learned chops and political savvy beyond the reach of a white, racist, I’ll say anything to get elected candidate this country might just be one great place to live. A country who’s constitution grows when watered by freedoms vote. My vote and yours. Thank you fellow Democrats for voting and telling your friends to vote too.
