Okay, so I've received a comment on my latest diary referring to me as rigid because supposedly it's a side effect of A.S. Well, I've got news for anyone who'd call us rigid: This country is fucking rigid. We aren't allowed to talk about anything that might get this country to any semblance of sanity without being called Commie Pinkos, or being told that it would infringe on people's rights.
Hell, this country is so rigid, we can't talk about taxes without some K-Street fuckwit and his schoolyard posse threatening to malign the rest of us if their tax rates go up even one penny.
And then some other poster said that I was emotional when I posted my last diary. Well, we can't talk about health care in this country because people are so heavily propagandized that any talk of a single payer system scares them shitless because some two bit caribou Barbie pranced around in stilettos telling us that President Obama was going to set up magical Nazi Death Panels. Unfortunately, we already have those. They're called 'Insurance Companies'.
We can't have a sensible conversation about any issue because some people in this country are so emotional and reactionary that anything can set them off.
I am more than happy to admit that sometimes I AM rigid or emotional, but that's because I'm sick and tired of seeing people suffer needlessly just so a bunch of rich old white men can continue benefiting at our expense.
I'm especially sick of our do-less-than-nothing media vilifying any group or individual who doesn't wear a god damn flag pin and proclaim that America is #1 despite the fact that we're virtually dead last in every area of human civilization in industrialized society.
Unlike many people in the country, I'm unable to shut myself off from what goes on around me. That's why I'm usually so pissed off, because our system is sociopathic to the core and we HAVE to change that if we want to make ANY progress.
Think about that before you call us things like Rigid, Emotional, or Sociopathic. Think about that before you go and vilify us and others with disabilities, or anything that doesn't look 'normal'. Just...think about it.
