He is not only out of touch but is touring in areas and groups he knows to be friendly.

Enthusiastic crowds waving American flags and holding campaign signs are greeting Mitt Romney on a five-day bus tour but the Republican's first big campaign swing since the primary season ended is reaching out to voters who are already in his column.
In order to win in November he must get the independent vote and he is not reaching out to them. Maybe he figures when they see the happy people waving flags and not challenging Rmoney the independents will think he is cool and they will want to get on his bandwagon even if they don't support any of his anti job, anti women, anti anything Democratic.
That sounds pretty out of touch to me. But I sure don't want him to change his tactics. If it fails him in the end then that is good for all of us.
One problem I do see is the main media seems to just report what he says like it was the truth when in many if not most cases basic fact checking would prove he's statements are not based on facts but re-re-statements of the Republican mantra.
Kinda like how a Mormon who is trying to convert my niece. I asked her what about some of the many facts I had found on the internet showing gaps in logic and accuracy of historical facts in things they had told my niece.
"Oh those are all lies." was all she would say. She would not discuss the facts in any way to really dispute them. She seemed to think if a Mormon prophet said it then no matter how wrong it seemed to be to me and others the prophet would always be right even if historical facts were different.
If that is the way Romney would run his presidency then I would be very afraid of his being in command of our military with all our nukes.
