as well as a New Trail.
Is this a new innovation in Journalism?
As most people here already know, our very own Kossack, Brit, has been giving us a brilliant perspective on the Rupert Murdoch scandal known in these parts as "Murdochgate".
Although his pieces are now written up at The Daily Beast he still drops in on our Murdoch diaries to give us delicious little snippets and insights.
Over the Kos bellybutton to find out what he's been up to this week...................
Brit has been live tweeting the beginning of the trial of Rebekka Brooks, Andy Coulson and six others which started on Monday.
This became so rivetting and popular that when he regretfully tweeted that he wasn't sure if he could continue there were wails of despair from far and wide. Not just from regular folks like me but from other journalists.
What happened next was totally brilliant.
Brit was persuaded to put up a link for funds with the aim of getting £4,000 so that he could continue until Christmas. I was so excited I even chipped in with £20.
Within 24 hours the total had gone over the £4,000, at day 2 it stands at £5,575!
This means Brit will be able to carry on, maybe until Easter when the trial is expected to wind up.
This is a link to a big fan of Brit who has written up the whole thing, she's done a great job It's all in sequence with a lot of the tweets embedded, so really easy to follow.

I'll take a bow in Brit's honour, I don't think he'd mind.
