You are the community of our hearts.
Mine
Ann's
and let's not forget the cats...
And for us, you have been our guiding star...
MB's quilt is almost done!
We cannot thank you enough.
You've provided a living for us when the economy has become unfriendly to older women. And the work that we do fills our hearts.
This year was particularly hard because of some near escapes, the biggest one being my sister's survival of a sudden and very deadly sepsis. This is one case where ACA saved a life -- because she had coverage, we did not delay in getting her to the ER. If we had waited, even one night, she would have either died or suffered major organ damage. As it was, it took a long time for her to get her energy back -- and for quite awhile she was having some peculiar allergic reactions. One of them required another trip to the ER by ambulance while I was at NN14 and I flew home early because of it.
But I am happy to say she is feeling much, much better.
Thank you for helping us with the end of the year expenses that we have. The property tax is paid for the year and we are taking care of some other things, like getting my computer repaired.
Our thank you is to everyone who helped -- by donation, by purchase of things we make, by participation in the community quilts (a special shout out to a person who helped with Yasu's quilt -- you know who you are!), and for all your kind thoughts and good wishes.
Kindness is what the community quilt project is about -- and boy, we are feeling that, ourselves!
Special thanks to peregrine kate, Onomastic, llbear, JekyllnHyde,, and 2thanks for their diaries, special graphics, and kind efforts to spread the word of our need.
We love you.
Going forward, we don't want this to happen again. We are counting the hours we spend on our quilts to get a handle on how they should be better priced. But we are all ears for any ideas on how we might better spread the word on the work we do -- whether that be the special quilts we make or the Pootie Pads for cats and dogs. I am all ears!
In closing, thank you, thank you, thank you!
With love,
Sara
