Todd Akin is now claiming that his wording was slightly off and that's what the 'legitimate rape' problem is all about. No. It isn't
Todd Akin: ‘I should have said legitimate case of rape’

Todd Akin is now saying that he used the wrong term when he had his famous 'oops' moment.
"Legitimate rape is a law enforcement term. And it's abbreviation for legitimate case of rape," said Akin. The former congressman added, "If I had been choosing my words better, I should have said legitimate case of rape. And I have acknowledged that it is a poor choice of words."
Akin, as he has done in several media interviews in recent weeks, argued that his words were deliberately distorted.
"This is something that was intentionally misunderstood and twisted for political purposes," he said.
No, that's not the problem, Todd. The problem is that your premise stays the same. You believe that if a woman is really, truly raped then she cannot get pregnant because she can somehow shut everything down. Therefore, if a woman says she was raped but she gets pregnant she is lying. Therefore making exceptions for abortion in the case of rape is unnecessary. Because if you were 'legitimately' raped you don't get pregnant.
We understood you the first time, Todd. We understood exactly what you were saying.
