If you're interested in the energy that powers civilization, whether it's clean, dirty, or something else, you really need to understand the distinction between "power" and "energy". They're not the same thing!
Reporters who should know better often confuse these terms. I can't count how many times I've read that a new wind farm will generate "250 megawatts per year", when this is actually a meaningless statement. Seriously—even press releases from power companies don't always get it right!
