I've been paddling around the Kos pond for several days now. Quite friendly reception has been given me; thank you, fellow pond denizens. Well, in my travels, I happened to come across one of my distant cousins, Al. This is not his full name but much less formal than his august-sounding moniker: Albert Alligator III. Now Al is the grandchild of Albert Alligator of the Walt Kelly swamp of years ago. Al's grandpa (Al the first) was a pal of Pogo Possum, some of you older pond denizens may recall.
So after the usual greeting of tail swatting and jawboning, we started talking. Al said he's been living comfortably in the pond a number of years. He asked me why I decided to swim in the Kos pond. So I naturally told Al about my peregrinations across the U. S. of A. After leaving the Chicago swamp, I spent some time in a New Hampshire swamp. One of my neighbors at the time from a nearby swamp, extricated himself from humble beginnings and became Bernie Sanders. Too bad I never got to meet him back then.
Well, I migrated down the east coast, passing through Massachusetts. There at the waters are lovely shades of blue. One particular pond caught my interest, Walden. See the picture at the top. This was a very beautiful place but the winters were too cold for my liking; so I continued traveling south to Florida, where enormous numbers of my extended family live. My great aunt Flora lives there too.
Now for those of you who don't know, Florida is the lightning capital of the world. It is also home to some of the daftest Repuglicans (which is really saying quite a lot!) Now please excuse my prejudice, but being an Alligator, I happen to love RICK SCOTT. You may ask why (go ahead, ask). See RS (rhymes with BS) has forbidden his lackeys and other minions and peons indentured to servitude under his governance to NEVER use the words "global warming" or "climate change" under pain of being dismissed from their jobs.
But really, this doesn't explain why I LOVE RICK SCOTT. See, the explanation is really easy: when then the sea level rises due to [global warming], there will be a massive expansion of swampland and ponds--hence much more room for my relatives and me to live, play and eat in. Now the turtles and their devolved Repuglican descendants have not yet caught onto that fact--yea! More power to those know-nothing meat-heads.
BTW, the reason RS shaves his head is not to impress people with his cranial capacity, but to avoid being struck by lightning. Too late, Rick! The damage to your cognitive faculties has already occurred, evidenced by your affiliation with the Repuglican Party.
Well, despite the pleadings of my great aunt Flora, I abandoned Florida because I am not patient enough to wait for the glaciers to melt enough (approximately only 4 years from now). So I proceeded to Loooziana, a state presided over by a JINDAL. Now I thought originally this meant a "gin doll" but no, it is another humanoid of the Repuglican party.
Loooziana is a great state. In addition to swamps and bayous (all fine places to reside) they have Zydeco, Creole cooking, another good things.
Now superficially there is a similarity between the Pond (picture at the top) and the Swamp. But note the relative paucity of light in the Swamp. Well, I was swimming around this particular swamp near the Big Easy when I became aware that some of the humanoids actually liked to kill Alligators (shudder). Most of them aimed their guns at my tail because they thought that since their brains were near their tails, mine would be too.
However, because of their ignorance and/or stupidity, I managed to evade them. I was not so lucky when it came to the law enforcement humans. One day, calmly swimming around, I was arrested and charged for SWG. To those of you who don't know, this charge is similar to one applied to some humans who are arrested for DWB. Because I am anti-acronymical, SWG = SWIMMING WHILE GREEN. Most of you can then figure out what DWB means.
This last outrage caused me to flee the state of Jindal and head West. Finally, long story short, I found the Kos pond, with its pure Blue color and serene setting. I am still settling in but find this place congenial. I can even hang out with some turtles, who mostly are harmless and well-meaning.
Tomorrow I plan on resuming the troll for the elusive super turtle (taxonomy: "billionaires americanus, var. Kochiansis").
