A few years ago, Robin Vos became very upset with someone who implied that he was a racist. Well, Mr. Vos, you have been doing whatever Scott Walker wants and we learned today that Earl P. Holt III, the president of the Council of Conservative Citizens, had decided that Walker's policies were racist enough to suit him. Now Mr. Walker is trying to make his 3,500 endorsements go away. It won't work.
Paul Krugman had a good blog post that led up to today's column about the interesting fact that Wisconsin and Maine (and Missouri, a slave state) are the only states that were neither part of the Confederacy or not yet states at the time that turned down expanded medicaid.
Is Wisconsin run by racists? Earl P. Holt III says it is. Will we ever hear from Scott Walker about it? For someone who alleges that he is unintimidated when he picks on nurses and teachers and such, he sure seems afraid to speak out against government display of Confederate banners and even blatant racism. Why? Is Earl P. Holt III right? Will Walker or Vos ever speak out?
