I wrote out my complaint to the DC Bar before I read Meteor Blades BlOG about it. I read the article on Politico and immediately decided to file a complaint. If you would like to do the same, you can head over to the DC Bar website. Before writing a complaint please go to the heading Attorney Discipline and read How to file a complaint. Please also read the DC Bar Rules of Professional Conduct. Perhaps you can find other unprofessional conduct by diGenova that I missed in my complaint. Oh- and you will need diGenova’s address and email to file a complaint. That can be found here.
My Complaint:
On Monday November 30, 2020 DC bar attorney Joseph diGenova stated “Anybody who thinks the election went well, like that idiot Krebs who used to be the head of cybersecurity, that guy is a class A moron. He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot.”
This threat of MAYHEM and MURDER, is a direct violation of the DC Bar Rules of Professional Conduct. Rule 4.4 states " (a) In representing a client, a lawyer shall not use means that have no substantial purpose other than to embarrass, delay, or burden a third person, or knowingly use methods of obtaining evidence that violate the legal rights of such a person." diGenova stated this on the Howie Carr show. This is a podcast of the show

His statement of killing another person has NO substantial purpose other than to burden Chris Krebs, former head of Cyber Security for the United States Government.
In todays violent and reckless world, there is no need for anyone, let alone a DC Bar attorney, to make threats of physical violence and murder. In addition, perhaps Attorney diGenova thought what he was saying was hyperbole, but what if some crazy listener to the Howie Carr show took what he said seriously? Chris Krebs and his family are now burdened with the knowledge that at least one person in the world wants him dead. If that is not a "burden", I do not know what one is. I would hope that the DC Bar would consider revoking the license of Mr. diGenova, or at the very least sanction him. Thank you.
