Ester Salas was assigned to the Deutsche Bank/Epstein case 4 days ago. Today, a lone gunman posing as a FedEx driver pulled up to her house, murdered her son, and attempted to murder her husband, who is in critical condition. Apparently the judge was not hurt because she was in the basement.
This doesn’t sound like a random attack. It was obviously planned out in advance to disguise the murderer as a Fed Ex employee.
Given the stakes of the case she is currently presiding over, this is some extremely scary ****.
(EDIT 2: Commenters with more legal knowledge that myself are saying the stakes of the case are not as high as they might seem just because Epstein and Deutsche Bank are involved)

EDIT: As some have mentioned, things are still way too early to even guess at motive, and there are plenty of possibilities that could be unrelated to Epstein (lots of previous cases for the judge, her husband is a high-profile defense lawyer, and we know nothing about her son). Apparently the judge had previously received threats of some sort, though it seems they were not recent.
But I will say what we DO know is that this almost has to be a premeditated attack. Who the target was is not clear. However, anytime federal judges have gunmen posing as FedEx drivers showing up at their house and murdering their families like the beginning of some Tom Clancy movie, I think we need to pay attention.
UPDATE:
The suspected murderer has now died of what is being called a suicide:

Also, several people who understand the case in question far better than I do have indicated that this case is completely unrelated to Trump and had little chance of exposing any new Epstein info (meaning the murder is unlikely to have been related to the case). So take that for what it’s worth.
UPDATE 2:
The suspected murderer is being identified as an attorney who had a case before Salas 5 years ago. Seems like a long time to harbor a grudge and want to kill someone over a judicial ruling, but I don’t know any details of the 2015 case.

UPDATE 3:
Looks like the suspected murderer was a rather unstable individual whose life centered around hate towards women. He is now also being looked at in another murder that happened 8 days ago:

Den Hollander is a notoriously anti-feminist men's rights attorney, whose vitriolic website and book condemn women in rage-filled terms. In one of his books, he specifically blasted Salas by name as "lazy and incompetent" and said her only accomplishment was being a high school cheerleader. (Den Hollander appeared in her court at one time as counsel in a lawsuit over the all-male military draft.)
Authorities are also looking into whether Den Hollander is connected in any way to the July 11 death of a well-known men's rights activist in California.
