I’m a 75 year old average white guy. I grew up in the 60’s. I read James Baldwin, Langston Hughes. Listened to Jazz. Marched for civil rights. My wife’s classmates were Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman.
I cried when the Reverend Martin Luther King was assassinated. I had a dream.
My dream unfolded for me on November Third, and again last week in Georgia.
I watched with pride as the African American community organized, marched ... voted.
Yes, they voted to save our country from the oppressive thuggery, oppression, and gross incompetence of the Trump administration.
But to me. they voted to advance themselves. Each votes rose them all up. Their votes will bring on racial justice, police reform, prison reform, healthcare, education, jobs, income equality.
I have such pride and joy for my Sisters and Brothers.
I am just an average white guy.
I have a dream...
